How to care for your logo and entrance floor mat
The cleaning cycle for entrance logo mats.
By their very purpose and habitat, a mats favourite place to relax is on the floor. However, by their very nature of placement, a mat can be walked over hundreds of times a day in a busy environment. During wet weather, they take on a fair amount of abuse as footwear or wheels are wiped repeatedly over them to help protect interior floors.
After a while, there comes a time where the mat requires some TLC with a good clean and a refresh.
All our logo mats and indoor floor mats are fully launderable. Please see the guidelines below to assist you in this process.
Cleaning
- Vacuum mats regularly or hose off as necessary to remove heavy soil.
- Shake mats prior to washing to remove dust particles.
- We do not recommend the use of a particular cleaning detergent but products containing optical brightening agents, chlorine or bleaches should be avoided.
- Do not wash mats in an ozonated water system.
- Do not wash mats in a dishwasher.
- Do not dry-clean mats.
- Rubber only mats must be washed at temperatures below 60°C and should not be tumble dried.
- Mats should be washed at temperatures between 40°C and 60°C. They should NOT be washed at temperatures above 60°C on a regular basis.
- The use of a tumble-dryer for yarn mats as part of the laundering cycle is recommended.
Drying
- The mat temperature must be between 60°C and 80°C. Drying within this range will minimise the risk of overdrying, pile damage or distortion.
- Do not over dry mats. As a general guideline, moisture weight should be 10 to 15% of the fabric weight.
- All mats should be promptly removed from the dryer upon completion of the drying cycle and laid flat until cooled to at least 30°C/90°F.
Storage
- Once your mat is dry, mats should be stored rolled or laid flat after laundering. Do not fold mats.
- Store at temperatures between 10°C/50°F to 21°C/70°F with a maximum temperature limit of 40°C/100°F.
- If stored below O°C/32°F, mats can become stiff & would require warming before being placed in service.
- Avoid storage in direct or reflected sunlight even through windows.
