Tips on how to keep floor mats in place.

We have all experienced floor mats that have a tendency to move around or slide away from the area they were intended for.  This problem can cause a safety issue within the work place or in a domestic environment.  Below are a few tips and guidelines to consider when purchasing a new floor mat.

  • Consider the type of floor surface the mat will be placed on; carpet, wood, tile or other.
  • Consider where you would like to place the mat; indoors, outdoors, at the entrance, will the mat be exposed to wind or the elements?
  • All our logo mats and entrance floor mats are produced with robust 100% non-slip nitrile rubber backing and borders protecting the pile and preventing tearing, cracking and curling at the edges.
  • Gripper or claw backed mats are useful for attaching themselves to a carpet tiled floor.
  • Smooth or flat backed mats work well for a smooth floor finish such as wood, tile, laminate or cement.

  • The additional benefit of heavy-duty backing and the size of the mat will provide extra weight, helping to keep the mat grounded and stable.  This is particularly helpful in areas where there is heavy footfall traffic or where a mat is exposed to the elements.
  • Double sided Velcro can be attached during the production process to the underside corners of the mat to provide additional anchoring and hold.
  • Busy commercial areas where heavy trolleys are in use such as airports, DIY stores, supermarkets or trade counters, our logo mats have an option to be produced with suction cups, providing a premium hold for a safe environment.
  • Surface technology design mats provide a two-part mat system delivering flexibility for the placement of mats along with the stability of installed flooring.  This is a thin flat mat system that will always look smart, tidy and in-place.
  • If your door has a tight fit and will not allow a mat to reside below it.  A matwell or recessed floor area may be the answer for the placement of your mat.  Logomatworks can produce entrance and logo mats for these types of areas.  The skills of a local carpet fitter may be required too.  After the mat has been cut and is ready to be placed into the well, F3 flooring adhesive can be used to secure the mat in position.
